Tom Papa Detroit reviews
Super fun event and cool club
Cool venue. Informed and thoughtful staff.
Though Cobbs needs to update their website post Covid. A lot of what we read was no longer necessary (masks and clear containers for our purses).
Plenty of seating and not all bunched up around cocktail tables. Appreciated they had some 2 tops against the wall. Which was perfect for us.
Food options looked good, but we didn't purchase any. Drinks were o.k., pricey, but that's life in SF these days. Would have preferred a shorter set by the 1st 2 performers. Set started on time as well.
Tom Papa was wonderful. Appreciate his sense of humor, delivery and style. Very few bad words, if any.
A lot of his set, maybe half was riffing on a few folks in the front row. Which was funny and he's a master at creating humor out of thin air and just a word or a phrase, in this case, the audience.
Am I Tom Papa’s wife??
Let me start with great venue, great staff, easy to get in and seated, nice comfortable seating (ladies, plenty of leg-crossing room!), and a fantastic crowd.
As for Tom… seriously funny. I adore him. And the fact that his description of his wife’s cracking ankles and pre-bed chattiness IS SO VERY ME, my boyfriend leaned over to ask “Are you secretly married to him?”
His comedy was relatable, on-point and hilarious throughout. No lulls. Just an endless barrage of funny right from the first words. Tom is a true pro.
I’m a stand-up aficionado so I’ve seen A LOT of live shows. This one may just have been my favorite!
